- 01/09/2011

Top police officers at Salima Police Station on 27th August 2011 were all smiles when NBS Bank officials handed over a donation of office furniture worth of K300 000 to the station.

The furniture, according to Salima Police officer-in-charge, senior assistant commissioner Foster Mangani, is a relief to the officers whom he said were still using old wooden chairs.

Speaking when he received the donation on behalf of the station, except his office, has old wooden, uncomfortable chairs that were bought decades ago.

"We really need a conduicive environment to deliver good services and these chairs are part of what officers require," he said.

NBS Bank senior assistant branch manager, Tryson Kalanda, said that the bank responded to the call made by the station officer.

"We know for sure that for you to provide proper security, you need to provide proper security, you need equipment and one such equipment is furniture, that is why we responded," he said.
